Shinko Okuhara has appeared in advertisements, magazines, He has worked on a wide range of artwork for books, CD jackets, packaging, etc., and enjoys drawing motifs such as landscapes with plants, people, and animals, and produces works using a variety of expressive techniques such as painting, drawing, collage, and printmaking. This exhibition will feature works that are a new form of expression for Okuhara.
The faint trembling of branches in the wind.
A group of plants spreads out before your eyes as you look up into the sky.
The back of someone walking in the distance.
The "margins of life" that quietly exist in the city and nature float across the screen as if breathing.
The plants simply exist there, breathing quietly, transcending time and emotion.
And the tiny lifeforms that appear for just an instant intertwine subtly establish the meaning of the place. This can be said to be the moment when the landscape is given a name.
The landscape seems to be speaking to the viewer, or "reminding" them of something.
Even when there are no people, or only a few, there is still a sense of their presence.
However, in the face of the overwhelming presence of nature, this presence seems modest, quiet and still.
Vivid colors and a dreamlike composition.
Shinko Okuhara's works are connected to our everyday lives, yet at the same time seem like another world gently cut out from within them.
